Gonna run full virus/malware scans again.sometime today when I get a chance I will record a video to post here so you can see exactly what my screen is doing. #Soulseekqt keeps crashing updateIt was expired but since resetting I now have a new 365 day actice subscription lol Not sure about the failing windows update but my windows is currently up to date. The installer would keep crashing.after some reboots I managed to get them installed.Mcafee came with the system I never noticed a crash but I dont doubt it happened. #Soulseekqt keeps crashing installAfter I did this I was having problems for a while getting Nvidia drivers to install again. I did a system restore the night before that removed all of these apps and left only what came with the laptop. If you're still having the issue even after cleaning up your system and addressing the NVIDIA installer crashes, then perhaps a Dev might have some additional advice? Most likely not related to this issue, but still worth checking out for overall system stability. Not sure why, or how long ago, but something you'll want to fix. A decent guide: Īlso, you have Widnows updates failing. Since this is a Dell, I assume the OS came pre-installed, correct? If it came with bloat/crapware, you might want to run through it and see what you want to remove. They may or may not cause issues, but it's tough to tell if you don't have a fairly clean system to start with troubleshooting. I'd definitely run through your system and clean up apps to remove services you don't want. It looks like you have McAfee installed? This crashed. #Soulseekqt keeps crashing driverhaving each client handle the issue differently is light-years beyond my understanding and forces users with more than the very simplest of needs to either emulate an official client under 2 platforms, or to use the non-official ones. From that dxdiag, you do have 5 crashes of the NVIDIA driver installer. While i do understand the reason for not handling symlinks at all (even though i seriously disagree with it) as it happens with the Linux client i would at least expect all the clients from the same developer following the same philosophy, so you tackle the problem once and it's fixed from then on. What absolutely drives me around the bend is that there are 3 clients for soulseek from this developer, and each of the three handles symlinks differently, making it an absolute NIGHTMARE under mixed environments. You share the directory "/Users//Books", which contains symlinks to the actual storage location:īooks/eBooks -> /Volumes/zfs/nasdrives_1_2/Books/eBooks it's not supposed to happen, symlinks are there for a reason, why on earth would you resolve them in an app, especially a p2p app. Soulseeqt **FOR OS X** resolves symlinks. Just figured I'd mention it in case it's still a legit bug and easily solved. #Soulseekqt keeps crashing upgradeShe admitted she's using an older version of SoulseekQT, so I think I convinced her to upgrade to the latest version, and maybe that will make this bug go away. So I'm wondering if either the folder names being similar (identical up until the / tag at the end) and/or the file names being exactly the same is causing the client to trip when it queues, and grabbing everything that matches. Consequently, I have a lot of V0+320 pairs, some of which are my own encodes from FLAC to upload as torrents (and so their root folders are inside the same parent folder) and others are 320s I downloaded and then later found V0 "upgrades" for, but forgot to delete the 320s (and not located in the same parent folder, sometimes not even on the same drive.) While I can't rename my downloaded torrent files, I rename the folders for everything and rename all the non-torrent files on my drives (e.g. These V0 and 320 MP3s are NOT shared inside the same folder(s). She was clear this only happens when searching/downloading folders, and not when queuing files/folders from me after browsing my shares. I noticed it weeks ago but thought nothing of it, then asked her tonight and she says it's accidental, and happens when she queues up V0s from me via Search results that I also happen to be sharing 320s for the same release. A friend of mine has been intermittently downloading releases from me in both 320 and V0 MP3s, at the same time, in the last few months. ![]()
